The Code of practice for portable hand-held rebar cutters

One: preparation before the operation

1. Personal Protection: operators should wear complete protective equipment, including emergency rescue clothing, boots, helmets, and gloves.

2. Equipment Inspection: before use, should check all parts of the cutting machine are in good condition, including the motor, driving device, cutting blade, 

and shell, to ensure no cracks, defects, tool holder bolt fastening, or Strong Shield.

3. No-load trial run: after starting the cutting machine, run no-load first, and check whether the motor, transmission part, and bearing run normally.

Two: operational process

1. Start-up and adjustment: according to the equipment specification to adjust to the appropriate voltage, ensure that the power supply and equipment rated voltage, 

and avoid wrong connection.

2. Correct posture: when operating, the right hand holds the back handle of the cutting machine, and the left-hand holds the front end, keeping perpendicular to the cutting blade to

 ensure a safe distance when cutting.

3. Material preparation: to ensure that the steel to be cut firmly clamped to avoid processing too long steel without help.

4. Cutting Action: when cutting, use the middle and lower parts of the cutting blade, and quickly align the steel bar, quickly into, 

the operator should stand on the side of the fixed blade, and force the steel bar, to prevent the end pop injury.

5. Safe Distance: during operation, ensure a safe distance of at least 150 mm between the hand and the cutting blade. For short material,

 use a sleeve or fixture when the hand-holding end is less than 400 mm.

6. Material Limitation: Don't cut the steel bar whose diameter and strength exceed the mechanical nameplate, avoid cutting the red-hot steel bar, 

and when cutting multiple steel bars at one time, convert the total cross-sectional area to be within the specified range.

Safety Tips

1. Prohibitions: hands are strictly prohibited to grasp both sides of the steel bar feeding bent down, not in the grinding wheel surface grinding workpiece burrs, 

and is strictly prohibited in cutting hand contact with the blade.

2. Emergency Treatment: find the abnormal operation of machinery, abnormal sound, or blade skew, immediately stop maintenance, maintenance must cut off the power supply.

3. Night Work: make sure there is enough lighting and the workstation is stable.

4. Power management: after cutting, cut off the power, use the steel brush to clean up the debris between the cutters, cleaning and lubrication.

Four: Special Operations

1. Hydraulic cutting machine: check the hydraulic oil level and the rotation direction of the motor before operation.

2. Manual hydraulic cutting machine: the use of a pre-screw tight discharge valve, after the screw loose cutting, operating with insulating gloves, to maintain stability.

Five: maintenance and upkeep

1. Daily Maintenance: regularly check the integrity of the parts of the cutting machine, clean up the debris between the cutters, and keep the equipment clean.

2. Power Safety: to ensure the safety and reliability of power lines, to avoid pulling power lines without permission, pay attention to the placement of power lines, to prevent being cut off.

Six: follow the above operating norms, which can effectively protect the safety of operators, and improve the efficiency and quality of steel cutting.
